Save the Date For Upcoming Events!

Mark your calendars today for upcoming events benefitting our students and school, including:

  • Dining for Kids to benefit the Issaquah Schools Foundation
Join us on November 6th at Chinoise Sushi Bar & Asian Grill in Issaquah Highlands!  Our Dining for Kids restaurant partners generously guarantee a portion of the day’s proceeds as a donation to the Issaquah Schools Foundation that provides multiple forms of support to Issaquah School District students, including food aid. More information about Dining for Kids dates & locations can be found here.
  • Dining for Kids for the Newcastle PTSA – MOD Pizza, Newcastle on Nov. 13
Take a day off of cooking and help the kids of Newcastle Elementary. 20% of all proceeds from food purchased the entire day will be donated to the Newcastle PTSA, but you have to mention the PTSA when you order. Please {click here} to RSVP and we’ll see you there!
  • Shop for a Cause for the Issaquah Schools Foundation
Join the Issaquah Schools Foundation at the Golf Club at Newcastle on November 14th and get a jump on your Holiday shopping! $3 from each glassybaby and 20% of all Kendra Scott jewelry sales will be donated back to fund programs and resources for Issaquah School District students. Enjoy an evening on the Terrace (indoor) of the Calcutta Grill with friends, neighbors, and colleagues, and rally together to shop for a cause!
  • PTSA General Membership Meeting – Wednesday, Nov. 20, 6:30-7:30 pm
Join us in the Newcastle Library on Wednesday, Nov. 20 to learn more about the 2020 Issaquah School District Replacement Levy. On February 11, 2020 voters will have the opportunity to replace the levy approved in 2018 that expires at the end of 2020, maintaining current funding for programs such as career and technical education, mental health counselors, dual language, and safety. Representatives from both the Issaquah School District and the School Board will be present to share facts about the levy vote and answer questions. We will then vote on whether or not to endorse the levy as a PTSA. Please join us as we need as many community voices present as possible.

Food Drive Collections Continue Through Nov. 8th

We’ll continue to accept donations for the Issaquah Food Bank through this Friday, Nov. 8th. Please drop donations off in the bins outside the main office. Find a list of needed items at www.newcastleptsa.org.

Thank You To Our Costume Carnival Volunteers!

Dear Newcastle Elementary Families,

Thank you so much for making the 2019 Costume Carnival and Spaghetti Dinner, yet another success. We could not have done this without the Newcastle Lions and their family and friends. We especially wanted to take a moment to thank the following members who made this event happen:

Peter O'donohue, Marcia O'donohue, Bettina Vuong, Diane Pruett, Alice Kim, Sarika Sikka, Tammy Chin, Heather Ackerman, Laurel Webb, and our Amazing Newcastle Dad's and their Spaghetti serving skills, the awesome DECA students from Liberty High School who come in with any challenge every year, and turn around the commons into a fun family night.  Of course, following in their footsteps, we have some really helpful Maywood Middle Schoolers, who stepped up to the plate and really helped pull this carnival together. Finally, thank you to the 5th grade volunteers who particpated in this year's carnival.

A big shout out goes to our Bakers at our one and only local Safeway and QFC. Year after year, especially Safeway contributes many of the treats offered at the treat walk, and what we lack is filled by the parents who volunteer to bring in treats and goodies the day of the carnival.

This event could not happen without our front office staff, custodian staff, and kitchen staff who worked tirelessly and endlessly through the night to make our celebration at Newcastle Elementary even more fun!

Regards,

Sarika Sikka
